Covid Update

Hello Everyone!

In our preparation for in-person classes as we navigate the current health climate, we have prepared our Health Precautions Plan. This is based on CDC guidelines for schools throughout the country. We took into account our agenda as a small group and the comments of teachers and families enrolled. We will not be requiring children to wear masks during classes, but there are other details in place to help mitigate exposure risk.

Already we have reduced our in-person classes by half and capped the student maximum per class to under 10. We also have an online option for full access to classes virtually, for anyone to use as needed. If our health condition worsens, or mandates become more restrictive, we will rely on this option to continue our classes.

Additional protocol will include:

  • Sanitizing before and after classes;

  • Temperature check upon entering, for students and any remaining adults.

  • Masks worn briefly by all, during entrance and transition times;

  • Children and teachers to keep 6 feet distancing without masks during classes, or masked when engaged in close proximity activities, such as partner work.

  • Hand sanitizer offered, encouraged, and reminded through signage, adult modeling, and teacher sharing.

  • No sharing of student materials during classes.

  • Confidential notification and 2 week self-quarantining, if anyone in household is exposed to or contracts Coronavirus.

  • Decision to move to online access would be discussed throughout the semester, depending on health status of our group, Adams and York counties, or the state.

We hope these actions taken by our teachers, students, and parents will support our community in staying healthy through these times. We thank you all for adhering to these requirements, so that we may continue to meet together safely, with caution and respect for all. Anyone who feels uncomfortable with these requirements is welcome to shift to our online option. Final decisions by teachers as to whether the class with be online, and final family enrollment decisions, will all be made in the last week of August, by September 1st. We appreciate all your efforts and flexibility, and look forward to learning together this fall!
